ZB ZigBee Mesh Networking Relays
ZB ZigBee is simply the hottest wireless technology of our time. Period. It's fast, it's very easy to use, highly reliable, and self healing. Three components are required for the ZB ZigBee Mesh Network, the Coordinator (C), the Router (R) and the Endpoint (E).  Your computer can speak to a ZB ZigBee Mesh Network using a Coordinator. Think of the Coordinator as the interface to a ZB ZigBee Network. NCD Coordinators are equipped with a USB Interface. USB Coordinators mount as a Serial Port on your computer, and you will develop software that sends Serial commands at 115.2K Baud. The primary job of a router is to bridge the wireless gap between your computer (the Coordinator) and the device (Endpoint). If the Coordinator cannot speak to the Endpoint device because it is out of range, a Router can be used to bridge the two devices together. Endpoints are simply devices. With regard to NCD products, Endpoints can be relay controllers, data collection devices, PWM devices, and much more (and more coming).

  • A Coordinator Connects to your Computer
  • A Coordinator is used to communicate with a Mesh network
  • A Coordinator can talk to up to 8 Endpoints or Routers in any combination
  • A device is an Endpoint
  • If a Coordinator cannot talk to an Endpoint because it is out of range, a Router can be used to bridge data between the Coordinator and the Endpoint
  • A Router can also be an Endpoint device, but it's slower
  • SignalSwitch Compatible

Our ZB ZigBee Relays feature a wide range of controllers to fit just about any application!   DPDT and SPDT  and Solid State controllers are available with your choice of eight channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Conversion or UXP Expansion Port on selected models and all are of course SignalSwitch compatible.  We also offer a sixteen, thirty two and forty eight channel Contact Closure Input Scanner Detector that can be added to your Mesh Network.  All ZB ZigBee models feature the ProXR Command Set and an XR Expansion Port.

Switch Closure Input is a vital part of just about any control system. Our ZSCAN ZB ZigBee Series Contact Closure Input Scanner Detectors allow you to read 16, 32, or 48 switches per board. Ideal for reading motion detectors, glass breakage detectors, window/door open detectors, ect. and it's all on the mesh network.

ZB ZigBee Coordinator (Required)

Plug a ZB ZigBee Coordinator into the USB Port of your computer.  The Coordinator will be used to communicated to your wireless ZB ZigBee network.  The Coordinator will mount as a COM port on your PC.  Open the COM port and start sending data to the Coordinator.  The Coordinator will forward your data to any or all devices on the ZB ZigBee Mesh Network.

Onboard analog to digital conversion is available on selected models of these controllers! This will allow you to:
  • Read light and temperature levels
  • Easily activate relays when A/D limits are reached
  • Detect audio levels
  • Read switches, potentiometers, and analog joysticks
  • applications are limitless, and surprisingly easy to integrate
  • Available on Select ZB ZigBee boards

UXP is a new standardized data port, specifically for the purpose of speaking to various expansion modules. If the controller you are considering is equipped with a UXP port, you can take advantage of extended commands to speak to our growing line of I/O expansion modules. UXP in the part number allows you to:

  • Add Contact Closure Inputs
  • Add Analog to Digital Inputs
  • Add Voltage Detectors
  • Digital Potentiometer Outputs
  • Available on Select ZB ZigBee Boards

Models with the ProXR suffix will feature the ProXR commend set. The ProXR series will allow you to:

  • Send simple commands to activate relays
  • Upgrade without having to re-write your software
  • Activate up to 16 relay timers
  • Control up to 256 total relays using the XR expansion port
  • Full backward/forward compatibility w/the ProXR series command set
  • Available on select ZB ZigBee boards

ZB ZigBee Coordinator

Communicating with a Wireless Device does NOT have to be complicated.  Our line of ZB ZigBee Coordinators allow first time users to communicate with ANY XSC device, even if it was not manufactured by us!!! 

Here's how it works.  Plug the ZB ZigBee Coordinator into your computer and install the drivers.  The ZB ZigBee Coordinator will mount as a COM port on your PC.  Next, talk to the COM port as though you were communicating with a RS-232 serial device that is directly connected to your PC.  That's all there is to it!!!

ZB ZigBee Coordinators offer wireless 2-way communications, compatible with any XSC device or network.  This device is Powered by the USB Port.  Includes USB Cable and Enclosure. PCB is NOT mounted inside enclosure, Enclosure is not drilled.
