UXP: Universal Expansion Port
If you need to add capabilities beyond basic relay control to your application, then you may want to consider using one of our controllers equipped with a UXP Expansion Port. UXP is a new standardized data port, specifically for the purpose of speaking to various expansion modules. If the controller you are considering is equipped with a UXP port, you can take advantage of extended commands to speak to our growing line of I/O expansion modules. Here are the currently supported UXP Expansion Modules: |

Digital Potentiometer Expansion Module
This example shows a 8-channel digital potentiometer plugged into the UXP port of a NCD controller. You can take advantage of the Potentiometer command set, built into the controller, to talk to the expansion module. With this expansion, you will be able to set the status of up to 256 digital potentiometers individually or simultaneously. Available with 10K, 50K, or 100K Digital Potentiometers. This expansion is powered by the UXP port. |

Contact Closure Input Expansion Module
This example shows a 16-channel contact closure expansion module plugged into the UXP port of a NCD controller. You can take advantage of the Contact Closure Input command set, built into the controller, to talk to the expansion module. With this expansion, you will be able to read the status of up to 256 contact closures. Available with 16. 32, and 48-Channels of contact closure inputs. This expansion is powered by the UXP port. |

12-Bit Analog to Digital Expansion Module
This example shows a 16-channel Analog to Digital converter plugged into the UXP port of a NCD controller. You can take advantage of the A/D command set, built into the controller, to talk to the expansion modules. With this expansion, you will be able to read input voltages from 0-5VDC and convert these voltages to decimal numbers from 0-255 (8-bit conversion) or 0-4095 (12-bit conversion). You can chain up to 3 of these expansions together to read up to 48 channels of analog to digital conversion. This expansion is powered by the UXP port. |
